Have You Ever?

Have YOU ever read a book and could immediately relate to the character? Not necessarily by their actions but by their descriptions. When I write I try and CAPTURE that character by the way they look, the way they walk and sometimes just by the way they talk or their surroundings. I want YOU the reader to SEE the character as they are.

“Just visualize, the rain falling from the sky in the dead of winter as she clutches her coat to shelter her from the soaking rain and the unruly wind. As she steps into the puddles, the water drenches her patent leather high heel shoes”

Can YOU see what I’m talking about; are YOU able to visualize this character and the falling rain? Are YOU able to feel the wind and the cold air as she tries to cling to her coat for warmth? That’s what I try to convey to YOU when I write “I want YOU the reader to feel and see exactly what I describe in my writing. I find enjoyment in shaping these characters and places. I find pleasure in engaging YOUR mind. YOU are the most important person when it comes to ME writing.

I LOVE THIS QUOTE:
"You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what's burning inside you. And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke." ~Arthur Polotnik

Look out booklovers for my third novel which will be coming out in the very near future, but in the meantime let me know what you think about my two novels “A Juicy Story and Delusional” . . . And if you get a chance tell me what catches your attention when you read a book . . .

Don’t forget to pay me a visit at the venues listed if you’re looking for a signed copy of my books which are also available via my website.

Need a laugh for the day? Tell a friend, check this one out!

An 80 year old woman was arrested for shop lifting.
When she went before the judge in Cincinnati he asked her,
'What did you steal?'
She replied, 'A can of peaches.'
The judge then asked her why she had stolen the can of
peaches and she replied that she was hungry. The judge
then asked her how many peaches were in the can.
She replied 6.
The judge then said, 'I will then give you 6 days in jail.'
Before the judge could actually pronounce the punishment,
the woman's husband spoke up and asked the judge if he
could say something.
The judge said, 'What is it?'
The husband said, 'She also stole a can of peas.

Go on Girl!
I'm am honered to know you!

Here's a little something for the day.....

Subj: A little black girl

A stranger was seated next to a little black girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said, “Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”
The little girl, who had just opened her coloring book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, “What would you like to talk about?”
“Oh, I don't know,” said the stranger. “Since you are a Negro, do you think that So-called President Elect Barak Obama is qualified for the job?” and he smiles.
“OK”, she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass -. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?”
The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”
To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss President Barak Obama... when you don't know shit?”

Hope a.k.a. Terry;
Your imagination is amazing!
I personally can't believe how your mind actually works to put it all together. Still waters do run deep..............who would know?
Your books grab my attention and make me want to read and finish reading the book as quickly as possible!
You can relate to the characters and visualize their appearances and actions based on your vivid descriptions!!
Juicy was indeed a juicy story and Delusional makes you think about the many people who step in out of their own character/personality.
Makes you wonder................
Continue on your path and know that you are loved. Your name says it all, you give us all HOPE!!
Believing in your dreams helps to inspire me as well!

Love ya more than you know,
Big Sis,
Joyce aka Joycie

I love your books and they were very inspiring to me. I am someone who fit the description of one of the characters in one of your novels early in my life. After reading it, I was happy I had taken a different road. I AM FAN!!! and I am looking forward to reading more of your novels in the future!

Thank you . . . You go girl . . .

Kudos on your first book and now another. It's good to see black women stepping beyond the invisible boundaries that appear to have been set.

Just finished your second novel, LOVED IT. I am patiently awaiting the next one. In this time of economical strains it feels good to get out of my own head and read something that is entertaining and well written. Thanks again for that imagination.

I received an autographed copy of your book Delusional as a gift from my sister for my birthday. After reading it, I called her and said that it was a great read. So a few months later she calls me and says that she has another book for me written by you called everything necessary and I laid it on my nightstand for a few months before reading it. Well last night, I opened it and began to read....OMG!!!!! That was the best book that I've read this entire year and I read alot!!!!!From the beginning to end the book was amazing. I have no favorite part because it was fabulous in its entirety!!!I just got off the phone with my sister and we were saying how we thought the book should be made into a movie!!! We even know who should be the actors for each of the characters!!!!! Great job!!!!! I am in awe! I have told everyone I met about the book and am planning to purchase multiple copies to give away to any and everybody!!!! I love this book!!!
