Have YOU ever read a book and could immediately relate to the character? Not necessarily by their actions but by their descriptions. When I write I try and CAPTURE that character by the way they look, the way they walk and sometimes just by the way they talk or their surroundings. I want YOU the reader to SEE the character as they are.
“Just visualize, the rain falling from the sky in the dead of winter as she clutches her coat to shelter her from the soaking rain and the unruly wind. As she steps into the puddles, the water drenches her patent leather high heel shoes”
Can YOU see what I’m talking about; are YOU able to visualize this character and the falling rain? Are YOU able to feel the wind and the cold air as she tries to cling to her coat for warmth? That’s what I try to convey to YOU when I write “I want YOU the reader to feel and see exactly what I describe in my writing. I find enjoyment in shaping these characters and places. I find pleasure in engaging YOUR mind. YOU are the most important person when it comes to ME writing.
I LOVE THIS QUOTE:
"You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what's burning inside you. And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke." ~Arthur Polotnik

An 80 year old woman was arrested for shop lifting.
When she went before the judge in Cincinnati he asked her,
'What did you steal?'
She replied, 'A can of peaches.'
The judge then asked her why she had stolen the can of
peaches and she replied that she was hungry. The judge
then asked her how many peaches were in the can.
She replied 6.
The judge then said, 'I will then give you 6 days in jail.'
Before the judge could actually pronounce the punishment,
the woman's husband spoke up and asked the judge if he
could say something.
The judge said, 'What is it?'
The husband said, 'She also stole a can of peas.
